The S&HR American Turf Club(ATC) series continues with day 2. I neglected to mention in the Day 1 article that ATC features "4 Star Selections" for the larger tracks. Henceforth these selections will be marked with "*" and bet at twice the normal rate ($4 to win/$4 place instead of $2 to win/$2 place). Subscription rates for ATC are: 1 issue - $5 / 12 weeks - $51 / 26 weeks - $100 / 52 weeks - $167. For the purposes of this report all horses selected in ATC were wagered in the following way: $2 to win / $2 to place A $1 exacta box was played when more than one selected horse was in a race "X" denotes a losing horse SCR denotes a scratched horse * denotes a "Four Star Selection" Here's how ATC selections did for Tuesday, June 8, 2021: Thistledown Race 1 - 1 The Cookie Man X / 4 Maximum Factor X Race 2 - 1 Montauk Cove X Race 4 - 1 Awesome Wonder SCR Race 5 - 8 Goldenpence X Race 8 - 1A Seeking Violet $52.40 Thistledown ended up profitable in a rather roundabout way. In race 1 ($17,500 claiming race) both selections looked inferior. Montauk Cove came in 3rd in race 2 (starter optional claiming, $8000 - $5000), while Awesome Wonder was scratched in the fourth. The last selection for Thistledown was 1A Seeking Violet in the 8th. Seeking Violet ran at 21-1 odds and looked lost, finishing last - but as a #1A horse you win if #1 wins, which #1 Quarantina did - combined Win/Place bets paid $52.40. Thistledown amount wagered: $22 Amount won: $52.40 Total +$30.40

What an awful day at Parx. 5 horses, 4 races, 2 scratches, zero winners. Banker's Island, Russian Runner, and Federal Case all finished 4th, Chrisatude finished 2nd to last, while Factum Love Style finished in 3rd.

Race 2 - 2 White Cashel SCR / 5 Rainyinbetween X
Not much to write about here. #2 White Cashel was scratched and #5 Rainyinbetween came in last.

Race 2 - 6 Unwavering X Race 3 - 4 Ouch That Hurt X Race 4 - 6 Miss Ross X Race 6 - 2 Don Martin X
Frustrating results as the selected horses just couldn't make it happen. #6 Unwavering finished 3rd in race 2, #4 Ouch That Hurt finished 4th in race 3, #6 Miss Ross finished 4th in race 4, and #2 Don Martin finished 3rd in race 6.
Finger Lakes amount wagered: $16 Amount won: $0 Total: -$16
3 - 1 Bold and Brassy X 6 - 5 Firewater Jake SCR
A quick day at Indiana Grand with the only horse that raced, #1 Bold and Brassy at a claiming price of $5000 in the 3rd, finished second to last. Bold and Brassy was the only horse claimed, by owner/trainer Ralph Martinez.
Indiana Grand amount wagered: $4 Amount won: $0 Total: -$4
3 - 4 Tensas Toddy X 4 - 7 Got Fashion $5.40 6 - 3 New Year's Party X
Race 3 was a $5000 claiming race, winner #3 Bajan Cash was the only horse claimed (new owner/trainer Jeffery A. Reeves, Jr.) but selection #4 Tensas Toddy finished 4th. Race 4 was a $17,500 claiming race. #7 Got Fashion went off as a big favorite and lived up to the hype despite going unclaimed. Race 6 had #3 New Year's Party finishing 3rd.
Louisiana Downs amount wagered: $12 Amount won: $5.40 Total: -$6.60
7 - 5 Cuckoo Forcononuts X / 7 L.A. House X
In race 7 both horses went unclaimed with a price of $5000. #5 Cuckoo Forcoconuts lost steam and L.A. House finished last.
Penn National amount wagered: $10 Amount won: $0 Total: -$10.00
2 - 7 Wild Behavior $4.20 3 - 9 Twoko Bay $5.60 4 - 1 Nora's Legacy X 8 - 3 Someone Said So $4.80
Off to a good start with #7 Wild Behavior in the 2nd, but he was so heavily favored after 3 horses scratched that it paid a pitiful $2.10 for win and $2.10 to place. Race 3 was similar with #9 Twoko Bay winning and paying $3.20 win/$2.40 place after getting claimed for $30,000 (new owner: Al & Bill Ulwelling, new trainer: Gary M. Scherer). In race 4 Nora's Legacy ran 2nd to last, while we enjoyed a place winner in race 8 for a whopping profit of $0.80.
Canterbury amount wagered: $16 Amount won: $14.60 Total: -$1.40
8 - 7 Amace X 7th / 9 Blowing Strong 3rd
In race 8 (claiming race, $4000) #7 Amace ran like a $40 horse, never a factor finishing 2nd to last. Blowing Strong looked a bit better but didn't have enough to finish higher than 3rd.
