TELEGRAM TOUTS: A TRIP THROUGH AN INTERNET SEWER
Always on the lookout for winners I recently took notice of the various Telegram channels/groups (Telegram "channels" allow one-way communication, moderator to user. "Groups" allow everyone to post) that purport to hand out horse tips. My interest was piqued by a claim that someone posted Saudi Cup winner Emblem Road in one of these groups. I still can't find where that was posted, but I've found plenty of tips.

S&HR WON OVER 63% OF NFL GAMES IN THE BETONLINE MEGA CONTEST
The 2021 NFL regular season was a real challenge, but in November when ESPN and others were reporting "this is the worst month for NFL bettors in years" S&HR was doing quite well.

The most interesting - and profitable - was week 9, November 7.

Cleveland was having problems with WR Odell Beckham Jr. He would be released the following Tuesday. Cleveland was +2.5 @ Cincinnati. Cleveland won 41-16.

THE CIRCA EXPERIENCE: NFL SUNDAY CHAMPIONS CLUB TABLE REVIEW
I met up with an old friend in Vegas last month and he surprised me by renting a "Champions Club" corner table at Circa for NFL Sunday on November 14, 2021.

There was a bit of confusion since the reservation stated we should be there by 8AM(!), but that was cleared up and we were encouraged to be there by 9AM. You have to check in at the top of the stairs, a process that took less than 5 minutes.

We were escorted to our table and told someone would be along to help us shortly. Walking into Circa Sportsbook shocks the senses. I've read they spent $20 million on their screens and I doubt don't that after being there. It takes a few minutes to get used to looking up at the giant images but you won't have trouble seeing any detail of any game.

BETTING ON THE 2021 NATHAN'S HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
Joey Chestnut has won the last 5 - and 13 of the last 14 - Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest events. His dominance is so thorough that most sportsbooks aren't offering odds on the winner of this year's event. It's assumed Chestnut will win once again and the top wager offered is a total on how many hot dogs he will consume in the 10 minute time limit - Over 73.5 -130 / Under 73.5 +100. (Betonline.ag)

REVIEW: EAST COAST HANDICAPPING REPORT
If you’re on Twitter and follow horse / sports gambling you’ve no doubt seen the plethora of people trying to sell their picks. In the course of a discussion about touts and how much of a ripoff they are, I noticed someone mention Rob Henie’s East Coast Handicapping Report as a rare gem - reasonably priced and containing solid horse handicapping information.

THE SARTIN METHODOLOGY: UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY
Trying to discern the truth about Howard Sartin and his Sartin Methodology is like trying to capture a moonbeam. It looks easy enough, but as you get closer to it, you realize it’s a very elusive thing.

First one guy tells you an amazing story. Then a second guy denies that the first thing ever happened, but here’s an even wilder tale.

Then a third guy comes along who tells you that both the first two fellows are liars.

BETTING ON POLITICAL FUTURES: WILL THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE USA LAY THE SMACK DOWN?
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson began his career in entertainment as a professional wrestler with the (then) World Wrestling Federation in November 1997. Given his current status as one of the biggest stars on earth it may be surprising to learn he didn’t meet with immediate success.

Debuting as a smiling “good guy” he was not met with cheers from the fans. In fact, the fans hated him and often chanted “Rocky sucks.” It wasn’t until later on when he became a “bad guy” and started developing his interview skills that he went to the top.

Over the years Johnson hasn’t had much time for wrestling as he’s turned into a mega Hollywood star. But he has mentioned running for President on numerous occasions, with The Guardian quoting him on April 12, 2021:

NFL COACH OF THE YEAR FUTURES 2020-2021
Head coaches in their first year with a new team have won this award 5 of the past 10 seasons.

After 8 of 9 of their losses happened by 10 points or less Chargers coach Anthony Lynn was fired, paving the way for coach of the year favorite Brandon Staley (+1000) to take the reigns. Barring a sophomore slump by AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert, Staley may just win it.

Here are the options S&HR is looking at:

Arthur Smith +1600
A dismal 4-12 record last season may make it easy for Smith to engineer at least the perception of a turnaround. With new super weapon Kyle Pitts in town Matt “Mr. Roboto” Ryan will have a much easier time of things. This isn’t our first pick but definitely one to consider.

Boozin at Bozos overcomes his scratch/hangover and cashes in big, but with $242 wagered and $202.70 won it was another unsuccessful day.   Note that ATC only had 1 winning day out of 7, and 5 losing days (one day was break even)... but I would still recommend the newsletter. Here's why...

"INCREASINGLY EXTRAORDINARY EXPLANATIONS" - THE STORY OF BOB BAFFERT'S FIRST DRUG SUSPENSION FROM HIS OWN BOOK
After largely getting away with 30+ horses testing positive for disallowed substances in his hall of fame career it appears Bob Baffert has finally pushed things too far.

Making reference to Baffert's "reckless practices and substance violations" as well as "increasingly extraordinary explanations" Churchill Downs has announced no horse trained by Baffert or by Bob Baffert Racing Stables can race at any track owned by Churchill Downs Inc. through the conclusion of the 2023 Spring Meet at Churchill Downs.
