BOOZIN AT BOZOS got off to a slow start but came back from being scratched earlier in the meet to "jump out of her skin" (according to announcer Paul Allen) and win a thriller in race 5. BOBBY BABY was scratched (re-entered, ZOE'S DELIGHT ran well, took the lead after the far turn and won easily at another good price.

SWANEE beat the rest of the field but couldn't catch GALWALKSINTOABAR for the win, paying a meager place price. ORCZY came all the way from Ireland to finish 5th after weakening in the stretch. Race 9 was an abomination of wagering with the selected horses finishing 3rd, 5th, and 6th. Things got worse in race 11 when EDINBURGH EXPRESS quit in the stretch. TORREY'S GIRL was never threatened for 2nd but couldn't run to her favorite price.

FREEDOM LASS was bumped at the gate and recovered, but was run down at the end. BEYOND BRILLIANT won handily but at a terribly short price. HAPI HAPI made bettors happy with a tough effort, overcoming lack of room and a bump in the upper stretch to win. GOLDINI was bumped at the start (is this Santa Anita or UFC?) and recovered but only managed 3rd. NEW DRAMA built a nice lead but weakened late and finished 3rd, BRIO IS AWESOME looked anything but, finishing 2nd to last.

MOLLECK led early but could only hold on for 2nd. GIO NASTY ONE had a bobble at the start, while UNCLE CHAD could only manage 2nd to last. LAST BATTLE and MR SHAPOOR made it look easy, the only 2 contenders at the end of the stretch, bringing in the biggest win of the day with win/place, place, and exacta wins. JASIRI led early only to tease us and finish last. STONECOLD STUNNER was a waste of time and money, while PIONEEROF NEW YORK managed 2nd.
